Start your wing foiling journey in Sri Lanka!
At DPC Kalpitiya, using a methodical lesson structure, together with our beginner friendly gear selection and easy learning environment,
you can enjoy a smooth progress in learning this new and exciting sport.

Our lessons start with an introduction to all the equipment, how to set it up, safety systems and wind window theory. Then we move right into your first piloting and wing control, step by step mastering board balance and wing control. Once out on the water, we are fortunate to have a large and spacious flat water lagoon that allows our students to drift downwind in a safe environment during the learning process. Our instructor will follow by boat and radio.

1 hour package

During the first encounter with this sport the student will get an understanding of how wing foiling works and how to practice in a safe way.
What you will learn during the lessons:

  • gear setup, wind window theory and safety
  • control wing on the beach
  • get in and out of the water
  • self-rescue & right of way
  • kneeling on the board and going in all directions

 

Level: beginner
Requirement: student knows how to swim, no need to have practiced any water sports before
Duration: 1 hour per lesson
Group ratio: max. 2 students

3 hours package

Our 3 hours package introduces the student to this new sport in a safe way and methodically brings the student to riding independently upwind and downwind.
What you will learn during the lessons:

  • gear setup, theory, wind window, safety, how to manage the wind, self-rescue & right of way
  • how to control the wing on the beach and how to get in and out of the water
  • kneeling on the board and going in all directions
  • standing on the board (for students unfamiliar with foiling, we start by towing behind the boat)
  • pumping and riding on the hydrofoil and upwind and downwind riding

Level: beginner
Requirement: student knows how to swim, no need to have practiced any water sports before
Duration: 3 hours
Group ratio: max. 2 students

4,5 hours package

Our 4,5 hour lesson package brings the student all the way from scratch to playing around with feet swaps, jibes and riding in small swell!
What you will learn during your lessons:

  • how to control the wing on the beach and how to get in and out of the water, self-rescue
  • kneeling on the board (board balance)
  • standing on the board (for students unfamiliar with foiling, we start by towing behind the boat)
  • pumping and riding on the hydrofoil
  • upwind and downwind riding
  • how to swap feet, to jibe and tack, and riding in small swell

Level: beginner

Duration: 4,5 hours
Group ratio: max. 2 students
